Zikr: Remembrance of Allah in the Sufi Way
ZIKR MOST NOBLE DEED IN THE SIGHT OF ALLAH: In the Name of Allah Most Merciful Most Beneficent Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon the Prophet Muhammad his noble family and companions Zikr or Dhikr means "Remembrance". In the Islamic spirituality, Zikr denotes "Remembrance of the Most High" through vocal (loud) or silent recitation of the Names of Allah Almighty. Zikr is usually accompanied by Salawat ala Nabi (salutations upon the Prophet and his family) and commemoration of the pious and righteous. Various Sufi ways practice different forms and types of Zikr in various ways. But the purpose is to fill the heart and mind with the remembrance of Allah the Most High. Only in the traditional Sufi ways and those who affirms Sunni-Sufi ways (Ahlu Sunnah Wal Jamah) , the Zikr circles exists.
